At The Healing Nest, I take your privacy very seriously. I hate spam just as much as you do and will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public any personal information that you may share with me.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform the general public of the nature, scope, and purpose of the personal data I collect, use and process through this website. It will also outline your rights with respect to the data that I collect.
What is Personal Data?
Personal data means any infomation relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (you, the ‘data subject’) by me (the ‘data controller’) or any other third party. An identifiable natural person, as defined by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is “one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, such as by a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person”.
What are Cookies?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device when you visit it. A cookie typically contains information about the website itself, a unique identifier that allows the site to recognise your web browser when you return, additional data that serves the purpose of the cookie, and the lifespan of the cookie itself.
Cookies are used to enable certain features (e.g. logging in), to track site usage (e.g. analytics), to store your user settings (e.g. timezone, notification preferences), and to personalise your content (e.g. advertising, language).
What’s the Difference Between First and Third-party Cookies?
First party cookies are cookies that are set by the website that you are visiting and it’s only this website that can access and read these cookies.
Third-party cookies are set by someone other than the owner of the website you’re visiting. As an example, some pages have content from other sites like YouTube. YouTube may set their own cookies on your browser when you play the video from YouTube. Cookies set by other sites and companies (ie. third parties) can be used to track you on other websites that use the same third-party service.
I use first and third-party cookies. Below you can see what cookies on my website are first-party cookies and third-party cookies.
Types of Cookies and How I Use Them
Necessary Cookies
Necessary cookies are required for the basic functionality of my website to work. This website only uses necessary cookies.
It’s not possible to reject or accept the necessary cookies as they are core for the functionality of my website.
Personal Information that I Collect & Why I Collect it
This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:
Our Blog
Should you choose to add a comment to any posts that I have published on my articles section (blog), the name and email address you enter with your comment will be saved to this website’s database, along with your computer’s IP address and the time and date that you submitted the comment. This information is only used to identify you as a contributor to the comment section of the respective blog post and is not passed on to any of the third party data processors detailed below or elsewhere.
The storage of the IP address takes place for security reasons, and in case your comment violates the rights of third parties, or you post illegal content through a given comment. The storage of this personal data is, therefore, in the interest of the The Healing Nest so that I can report any infringement.
Only your name (or pseudonym) and the date you made the comment will be shown on the public-facing website although if the supplied email address is linked to a Gravatar account, your Gravatar photo will also be displayed.
Your comment and its associated personal data will remain on this site until I see fit to either 1.) remove the comment or 2.) remove the blog post. Should you wish to have the comment and its associated personal data deleted, please email me at data@thehealingnest.co.uk using the email address that you commented with.
If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before posting a comment on my blog.
NOTE: You should avoid entering personally identifiable information to the actual comment field of any blog post comments that you submit on this website.
Contact Forms & Email
Should you choose to contact me using any of the contact forms or call back request forms on my website, or an email link like this one, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to / be processed by any of the third party data processors defined in this Privacy Policy or elsewhere. Instead the data will be collated into an email and sent to me. I will then only use this data to contact you with regards to your enquiry.
Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) ensures an encrypted connection between your browser and my website or form, however I would suggest that you always consider email as an insecure medium and not include personal, confidential or otherwise sensitive information within an email.

As detailed above, if you submit a comment to a blog post published on this website some personal information will be stored within this website’s database. This is currently the only occasion where personal data will be stored on this website.
